Prospective students looking for graduate work towards an MS in Biology at JCU

We are looking for a student to join the laboratory in the fall of 2026! If you are interested in exploring the function of biofluorescence in salamanders, please consider contacting Drs. Anthony and Hickerson (canthony@jcu.edu; chickerson@jcu.edu) with a cover letter and CV. Students who have had classes in Animal Behavior, Evolution, and Ecology will be most competitive. Please note that we are currently focused on how and why organisms are biofluorescent. We are not currently pursuing questions related to conservation of amphibians. Here's a great primer on how to write a cover letter that you should have a look at. It will be helpful when sending out inquiries to ours and other laboratories: https://contemplativemammoth.com/2013/04/08/so-you-want-to-go-to-grad-school-nail-the-inquiry-email/
